Fighting for Meon Valley
I believe that Britain needs change, not more of the same.

Local Services
The provision of doctors, dentists, hospital services and education are something that local people always tell me they are concerned about.
Having taught lessons at Horndean Tech, Cowplain, Denmead Junior and Swanmore and visited South Downs, Crookhorn and many of the local primaries including Hambledon, Newtown and Whiteley I can testify that, in general, we blessed with very good schools that return good results for their students. Of corse we should never be complacent and I recognise that not all pupils will have the same experience at their individual schools.
I have also visited to a number of the doctors’ surgeries in the area and, once again, am inclined to believe that we are well serviced by our medical practitioners.
Of course dentistry is a different matter altogether with almost no NHS provision available to residents at all. This is a matter of real concern to many and something which as your MP, I would seek to have an impact on.
The new developments at the Queen Alexandra hospital are, of course, very welcome. The hospital is not in the constituency but plainly a great many Meon Valley residents use it.
Reports are distinctly variable. Some are full of nothing but praise for fantastic staff and excellent new facilities. Others are deeply sceptical.
Again this is something that, as your MP, I would take great interest in. |
